The Merry Marvel Marching Society!

The Happy Show!

Jack Kirby, Flo Steinberg, Steve Ditko, Sol Brodsky, Artie Simek, Sam Rosen, Chic Stone, Wally Wood, Dick Ayers, Don Heck, Al Hartley, Stan G, Herb Trimpe, Marie and John Severin are the names of the people I grew up admiring. They were the Marvel Comics Bullpen back in the early 60’s and we kids had fun like you wouldn’t believe! I had to post these two vids of the legendary M.M.M.S., the Merry Marvel Marching Society! We’d save up our allowances and send them in for cards and certificates because Marvel Comics had that impact, that power that no other comics had. Guys would gasp at the covers and we’d all pile around one another with eyes bugging and mouths agape at every turn of the page.

Nowadays Marvel is no longer a laughing stock of the major motion picture industry. Marvel RULES. It took quite some time for technology in special effects to get even close to the imaginations of the Marvel staff! That’s a tribute unto itself! However, special effects do not a movie make! It’s all about story and Marvel’s had some of the best storytellers of the 20th Century. I said this a hundred times already that when the Marvel movies get made they’ll be magnets for top talent and the Spider-Man franchise is case-in-point. Now comes Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr.. Movie is going to rival Spidey for popularity lemme tell you! The new Hulk version will be out soon and that we’re all looking forward to.

It’s been fun reading these books and meeting these people.
